A scale gives you total mass divided by an assumed unit weight, so any variation in the parts becomes an error in the count. Vision detects and counts each unit individually, which means mixed sizes, light parts and irregular shapes are counted correctly rather than averaged.
Yes, including parts too light for a scale to resolve. Detection logic is tuned to your specific product rather than to a generic shape, so screws, clips, caps and similar small parts are counted at line speed even when they overlap or sit at odd angles.
